Sri Lankan team, ahead of beginning its first Test against India in Ahmedabad on Monday, has expressed its dissatisfaction over the security cover. It was after the Lankan team was sent an anonymous threat mail. The mail was sent from a cyber cafe in Janjgir in Chattisgarh to the Lankan team and to high ranking officials of Gujarat Police.
Sri Lanka gave themselves a minimum of 134 overs and an ample cushion of runs to try and register their first Test win in India, but the Ahmedabad pitch got deader and deader every passing minute.
At the end of the five days, 1600-plus runs were scored in three innings, with 21 wickets falling on a pitch that failed to crack even on the fifth day and allowed batsmen to make several records. And, well before the scheduled close of play, the captains agreed that a draw would be a logical conclusion.
